DescriptionNexium Esomeprazole is a prescription-only medicine for the treatment of premature birth. It is used to treat the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions where the stomach is at least 2 hours from a high-acid, liquid food. Nexium Esomeprazole is also sometimes used to treat GERD by preventing acid from being produced in the stomach. Nexium Esomeprazole is also sometimes used to treat esophagitis, a condition in which the stomach is at least 2 hours from a high-acid, liquid food. Nexium Esomeprazole is also sometimes used to treat duodenal ulcers, or peptic ulcers, to relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in people with peptic ulcers. Esomeprazole is also sometimes used to treat high blood pressure, or high blood pressure in the blood vessels of the stomach, such as high blood pressure in the leg, back, or sides of the abdomen. Esomeprazole is also sometimes used to treat abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias), such as QT prolongation, ventricular arrhythmias, or a rare condition called ventricular tachycardia.
